Where Can I Publish My Short Story for Money?
Stephanie B asked:
I’ve written a short story and I was hoping that I could send it somewhere so that it can get published and maybe I can get a few bucks from it, but I have no idea where to send it in.

I know there’s different places for different stories, so if you could give me a list of sites (or resources) that I could check out to see what they’re asking for in the short stories they accept, that would be awesome.

Is it a genre short story or is it literary? That’s the first issue.
The second is to then find sources through Writer’s Market, or a forum like Absolute Write or a genre-specific forum to see if anyone is publishing what you’ve written.
Then you go to those publishers and figure out what their submission process is.
There’s quite a bit of research involved. And short stories get paid almost nothing. You might get a one-time fee, or paid in royalties determined by how many copies you sell. Some will even try to pay you in copies of the magazine (which you can then presumably tear up to feed your fire in winter because Gawd knows they’re not worth much else.)

If you know your genre and how to prepare a submission, you can search for magazines that accept short stories on Duotrope (google for it). I’ve had good luck there.
